The community of Leschaux is situated on the slopes of Semnoz, and owes its name to the minor aristocratic 'les Chaux' family who also gave the local mountain pass its name. The pass is the only access to the heart of the Bauges from lake Annecy. Nowadays Leschaux is on the route to the ski station of Semnoz and is proud of its views over lake.
